Ways to Make Money Online with Porn

There are dozens of ways to make money online and several ways to make money in the adult industry. This is a list of the most common ways to make money online with porn.

Paysite

Paysites are part of the foundation that all other methods are based on. Paysites are usually member only sites that charge members a monthly fee for access to their content. They usually host one or many models and produce unique original content. Often they provide free sample galleries, images, and videos to be use by affiliate marketers to promote their site.

These types of sites have a few negatives. First you take on the role of a pornography producer, which has it own set of laws such as age verification and maintaining records. You take on the responsibility of producing content, hiring models and photographers, getting website and graphic design, hosting, and setting up an affiliate program.

The other problem is content protection. There are several sites and forums devoted to creating entire site rips of porn sites. They use automated bots to crawl and download the entire membership area, then they upload it via torrents to share with their friends on forums. Some of these forums are fairly complex and they’ll push to great limits to rip this content. These sites are under constant risk of hacking through password lists and exploits. People also trade accounts and site access.

During high school, I was an active porn ripper. No joke. I was a top member of a private forum devoted to ripping porn sites. I ripped about 200 to 300 GB worth of content during my time there. This is how I learned a lot about the porn industry. Several months ago, when I got into making money online, I used this unique knowledge in combination with traditional MMO techniques to make really good money promoting porn sites.

I have no experience running this type of site, so I won’t pretend to teach you about it. I do have a few friends who are photographers and run these types of sites, but my girlfriend has strictly forbidden me from getting involved in content production.

Free Hosted Galleries

This is an extension of paysites. A FHG is a preview gallery that is usually hosted on the paysite’s server and provided to affiliates for free for use in promotion. These are usually used in combination with TGP or other types of rotation scripts, which I’ll cover in a moment.

Blog

A blog is a form of software that publishes entries/posts on a regular basis. These posts are usually grouped into categories and monthly archives. This site is a blog and most blogs appear in a similar format. Blogs are popular due to their ease of updating and their SEO advantage. My blogging software of choice is Wordpress.

There are several ways to use a blog to make money, I mentioned a few of them in my post about how to make money online with blogs.

TGP

TGP are Thumbnail Gallery Posts and are a very popular method of traffic trading. They appear as a wall of thumbnails that link out to galleries (usually free hosted galleries). Webmasters trade traffic by signing up and then sending traffic to the TGP. The software tracks incoming and outgoing traffic and uses it to manage the display of thumbnails. A common feature of TGP is skimming. A certain percentage of clicks will be sent to a page other than the one intended for the thumbnail. The skim may send the visitor to a sponsor, the provider of the script, another TGP owned by the webmaster, an affiliate gallery for the webmaster, or an advertiser who pays to be included in the skim. TGP deserve their own post, so I think I’ll make one.

Money is made through affiliate adverting and by promoting your own galleries. Some TGP consist of galleries that are all controlled by the webmaster and the owner trades traffic between several of his own TGP. Money is also made by driving traffic to the TGP through the traffic trade and then surrounding the gallery with advertisements and banners for affiliates.

Toplist

A toplist is a classic method of traffic trading used by the adult community. When you sign up for a top list, you’re given a link to link back to the toplist. This link usually has a unique identifier on it. The toplist keeps track of how many visitors each site on the list sends and ranks them according to incoming traffic. The more traffic you send, the higher you rank. The concept is, the more traffic you send, the more traffic you get in return. I’m going to make a post on traffic trading to further illustrate how this works.

Those who sign up with toplists benefit by receiving more traffic. If they sign up with related niche toplists, they’re receiving targeted traffic from other sites in their niche. The owner of the toplist is able to use the toplist to promote their own paysites, affiliate ads, other toplists, and TGP.

Imagehost

Imagehosting is another way to make money, but not one I’ve tried. The market seems saturated and these types of sites are resource heavy. An image host allows someone to upload an image and it generally outputs a thumbnail and linking code. An imagehost can be used by someone wanting to post pictures in a forum. They can upload an image and are given bbcode to paste into their post.

Imagehosts make their money by displaying advertisements around the display of the image that is hosted on their server. Once the site takes off, it continues to generate traffic from people placing images across the web on forums and on their sites.

Forum

Forums are a type of online community. I assume you know what a forum is, so I won’t go into it. They make money by serving ads, having paid membership, offering upgrades for cash, and by selling “credits” to look at images. Forums can be used in combination with an imagehost. You can start your own forum and then require the members to use your in house imagehost. Your ads are displayed each time a person looks at an image.

Other

There are other site models that aren’t “porn”, but are very much related to the adult industry. These may be dating sites, like Adult Friend Finder, or even an online store that sells sex toys or lingerie.

Lastly, porn can be promoted on non-adult sites that receives traffic from demographics that surf porn. These sites might include niches associated with torrents, p2p/file sharing, internet culture, gamers, gambling, drugs, etc.

Conclusion

There are obviously many ways to make money online. This list is not meant to be a all inclusive guide, but simply introduces you ro the various methods. I’ll be covering many of these topics in depth in future posts.

Install Wordpress on Dreamhost

I know Wordpress installation is a fairly easy task, but those who sign up for Dreamhost might be surprised that they do not use Cpanel to manage their hosting. They have their own in house admin panel to manage your account and installs. This post will briefly walk you through the install.

I recommend Dreamhost for porn blogging because they have open rules about the content they host. They allow porn and also provide a lot of bandwidth and storage space. I consider them a great option for hosting porn.

To install software on Dreamhost, you’ll want to access the Goodies menu. It is on the left side menu when you log in to your admin panel. Once you click goodies, you’ll see the menu expand. There will be a one click install option, click it.

From here, you’ll be able to install a variety of of software easily, just like with cpanel (but it’s setup a little different)

This page gives you two options, easy and advanced mode. The easy mode sets you up with a Wordpress blog and handles all the plugins for you. The negative of this setup is that your options are restricted. You want the advanced mode, which is the general setup everyone has. You’ll want to slect the radio button for Wordpress as shown in the image.

Now, scroll down to the very bottom until you see the items in the image above. Here you’re going to set the directory for the blog. If you want the blog installed on the root directory, leave this blank. By root, I mean the home directory. Blogging Gone Wild for example is installed on the root directory. If you want it installed in a directory /blog/, you simple type blog into the box with the arrow.

Now we need to set up a db. This looks more complicated that it really is. Simply type in a name for the database. Something like domainname_pornblog will work. Then select create a new hostname and just put in mysql into the hostname box. Select create a new user. Type in a username (whatever you want) and type in a password. This is simply setting up a mysql database on your domain, naming it, and setting up a user account. Cpanel does this also, but it works differently on Dreamhost. Now click install.

If you set up everything correctly, you should get a success screen. It will look like this.

Wait about 5 to 10 minutes until Dreamhost completes the install, then go to you blog’s URL. You’re going to be greeted with a basic Wordpress installation screen. Work through it and feel out the information, it’s really simple.

Once you finish filling out the required information, you’ll be given your admin name and password. It’s a simple as that. Your Wordpress blog is complete. It’s a little different than s cpanel based webhost, but it has the benefit of being an adult webhost. If you’re seriously interested in making money with porn, I suggest you grab a Dreamhost account. Even if you already have a hosting account, its good to keep your porn account seperate from your legit hosting account.

I’ve been using Dreamhost for years (and a few other hosts), so if you have any problems and need help installing Wordpress, let me know and I’ll do my best to help you.

Affiliate Marketing with Porn

There are a lot of ways to make money online, I personally prefer affiliate marketing to promote porn site memberships.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

The concept behind affiliate marketing is simple. You send a person to a business and get paid for bringing that person in. Simply you’re a salesman. You set up a website that will be used to promote an affiliate, when a person visits your site and clicks through to your affiliate (via your affiliate link) you are given credit for the visit. If that person signs up, the business compensates you.

The porn industry picked up this form of online marketing early and continues to use it to this day to promote their sites and receive new site members. This is the type of online marketing I’ll focus on with this blog.

Commission Structure

Commission structure defines the type of payout you’ll receive. With porn affiliates, this is usually a percentage cut of the sign up fee. The two affiliates I’m suggesting on this blog, TeenRevenue and SpunkyCash have a revenue sharing commission structure, which pays out 50% to you for each site up. In addition, this 50% is reoccurring, which means you get 50% of their monthly revenue every month until that signup cancels.

Pros & Cons

Pros: There is no concern about smart pricing or conversions. Your payout will not be affected by your ability to convert. This is good for someone just learning how to drive targeted traffic. You can generate low quality traffic and not receive a smart price penalty, like Adsense. You also make the same amount as the content provider. You split the income 50/50. This is really nice because you get to make the same amount of money, but you don’t have to worry about managing models, photographers, graphic designers, or maintaining records. The same money, but with less hassle.

Cons: Affiliate marketing is performance based marketing. You do not get paid for impressions or clicks. The payment only comes from when the visitor converts. Although you won’t be punished via smart pricing for poorly converting traffic, you won’t make any money either. At least with Adsense you can get 1 to 5 cent clicks when smart priced. An affiliate site in the same situation won’t make any money. People can steal your revenue also by trading out your affiliate link with theirs. Then, they get the 50% cut and you don’t. (This happens a lot in internet savvy niches where people know what an affiliate link is, luckily, most porn surfers don’t. And in addition, most Internet savvy people are not signed up with porn related affiliates) Also you have to set up rotation and contextual display on your own. Adsense is simple because you just put in 1 code, it determines the content, and serves the proper contextual ad; and it rotates them out automatically.

There are definitely some negatives to affiliate marketing, but there are pros and cons with every advertising model. Affiliate marketing it the predominate and most successful form of marketing used in the adult industry, so that is what we’re teaching here.

Adult Affiliates

There are hundreds of adult affiliates on the Internet. Right now I’m going to be talking about two and using them as an example for now. As we move on, I’ll bring in other affiliates that I feel comfortable promoting.

Teen Revenue Adult AffiliateTeen Revenue: I’ve used these guys for a while now. They have several cute teen models. Some of them are classic Internet teen models and they have a few news ones. They convert really well for the sites I’ve set up for them. I have one site that makes $500 to $600 a month, which is not bad. I know $500 isn’t crazy, but I only work on it a few hours a week. The idea is to set up multiple sites with that type of income. This site pays out weekly. It takes them a few weeks before they send out the first payment, but then its regular past that. They deposit right into my epassporte account, then I direct deposit it into my bank account.

Spunky Cash Adult AffiliateSpunky Cash: These guys are a big affiliate. They run several big sites. They use ccbill as their payment gateway (I need to make a post about ccbill). I’ve just got into promoting their stuff, but I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.

Try these two for now. If you’re new to adult marketing it’d be best for you to use these because I’m going to use their sites as examples in future posts.

Affiliate marketing is nothing new to those interested in making money online. Adult affiliate marketing is not much different, just the promotion methods change. Porn affiliates convert better than anything else I’ve marketed so far. I suggest going and signing up for TeenRevenue and give porn affiliate marketing a try. If you’re a little unsure where to start, just stick around and read the blog. Maybe subscribe. I’ll be talking about how to set up a porn blog and how to promote it.

How To Make Money Blogging

Its no secret that you can make money blogging. Many of the make money online “experts” and A-listers make you think its some challenging process, but it really isn’t. There are two main approaches to making money with blogging. The first is to get paid for content you provide through freelance writing and guest posting. The second is to use internet marketing and SEO to drive traffic to your site. You can monetize you blog in some fashion to make money off your visitors. I personally enjoy the second option and that’s what I’m teaching here. I don’t like writing. I suck at it. And writing for money feels too much like a job. I’m not knocking the posting for cash method, but its not what I do or what I know, so I won’t pretend to teach you about it. I can however teach you how to drive traffic to a site and make money.

Traditional Ways To Make Money Blogging

Flagship Blog

A flagship blog is a large branded blog you post on often. This can bring in lots of money, but takes a huge time investment. The failure rate for this type of blog is also very high. These are A-List blogs, Perez Hilton, Egotastic, etc. This blog is meant to be a flagship blog. I plan to build my spot in the MMO + Adult Industry niches.

This is not the best method for those who are new to blogging. Making it in a profitable niche with a flagship blog takes considerable effort and skill. I suggest working toward this form of blog.

This type of blog can be monetized in many ways. You can push Adsense, affiliates ads, or do direct ad sales. The blog can be used to leverage other deals and markets. The fame gives your views and opinions more weight. The downside is the amount of work and energy required. You’ll work for a long time without making any serious money. If you want quick cash and have no experience, don’t try this.

MFA / Adsense Blog

Well, don’t call the blog MFA because Google doesn’t like that, but Made for Adsense blogs are one way to make money. The idea with these blogs is to target very specific keywords and target your content to trigger ads for high paying keywords. Adsense is PPC, so you get money every time a visitor clicks an ad. You can make $20 to $40 or so on some niches. Adsense can pay out well for Geotargeted service based niches. By Geotargeted, I mean a location such as New York and a service would be a lawyer for example. I can tell you without looking it up that “New York DUI Lawyer” pays good money.

The benefit of Adsense niche blogs is ease of set up and promotion. Dominating long tail keywords isn’t difficult. You can easily pump out 5 to 10 posts and you’re done with the site. You promote, then sit and forget it. It will make money with little more effort from you. You just make a post every month or two and go grab a couple of links and forget it again.

The hard part of Adsese blogs is learning Adsense. Many say Adsense is the easy way to make money online, but so many people are struggling to average a dollar a day. They struggle with smart pricing. They can’t drive targeted traffic. They have horrible CTR. Adsense isn’t that hard, but you need to spend some serious time reading and practicing before you get a strong handle on it.

Spam Blogs

These are automated blogs traditionally used by blackhats. These scrap the internet for content by stealing text from Wikipedia and blog RSS feeds. They are almost completely automated. They do require setup, promotion, and maintenance. The idea with spam blogs is easy volume. If you want to pump out hundreds of crappy blogs that will flood Google with spam, this is your method. This is black hat though and Google will kill your network when they find it. This is for you lazy people who like to gamble.

Affiliate Marketing

Instead of promoting PPC ads like Adsense, you promote an affiliate product. The concept here is revenue sharing. You drive traffic to your site, promote a product, site or service. When a visitor pays for the affiliate you get a percentage cut or a flat payout per sign up. Some times these are reoccurring membership fees and sometimes they’re a one time pay out. There are several affiliate networks on the net to find affiliate products to promote. This type of blogging has a lot of similarities to an Adsense blog. Here though, you need to be more concerned about selecting a keyword that will result in a purchase. Since you’re being paid on conversions and not clicks, you have to put more effort into “pushing”/”selling” the product. A benefit of this method over Adsense, is that you have more control over what ads are showing and not smart pricing.

And finally….

PORN BLOGS

The reason you’re all here. To make money with porn. There are two approaches here. Get naked and show off your body for profit (not really teaching this) and blogging with porn content to push porn ads. This is really no different than Adsense and affiliate blogs, except the content is different.

Advantages: You’re promoting one of the largest markets on the internet. Most of the content is provided for you. Many niches and long tails to target. You’re dealing with impulse buyers. You’re promoting a product that actually generates a biological response that encourages them to purchase. You get free porn. You can get tons of traffic. Large and reoccurring payouts. Traditional SEO’s and Make Money Online bloggers won’t touch it. Most porn marketers are aggressive, but ignore many mainstream methods of promotion. You get to look at naked women and get paid for it.

Disadvantages: It’s taboo and not accepted by society. People will think you’re a dirty pervert. You have to hide your identity. A lot of traditional marketing methods aren’t open to you (No blacks on blondes on the home page of Digg). You’re held within the porn vertical. You have to deal with content filters. You’re in a bad neighborhood and so are all of your link sources. Everyone in the porn industry is stuck on reciprocal linking. There are a lot of laws to keep up with. Its an visually heavy market, which makes it harder to SEO.

Porn has its challenges, but is a huge market that continues to boom on the internet. There is a lot of money to be made by those who can overcome the disadvantages. That’s what I’m here to talk about.

25 Social Media Sites for Porn SEO Success

Porn is handicap when it comes to promoting via social media and bookmarking. The porn industry has been surprisingly behind on the web 2.0 thing. In addition, porn isn’t received well by many mainstream social media sites. Here is a list of social bookmarking sites (in Digg style) that are dedicated to bookmarking porn. Many of these sites are dead traffic wise, but most dofollow your links, which makes them an easy sources for a one way back link.

Neighborhood

Of course, these sites are sure to be in a bad neighborhood, but that’s the nature of porn, everyone is in the same bad neighborhood. Most legit sites aren’t competing for keywords like “Latina Teen Blowjob”, so the “bad neighborhood” concern isn’t that great.
